School Kits donated by Lutheran World Relief are delivered to children in need.
Since the 1950′s, the LWF-Jerusalem Program has acted as a distribution center for material aid resources sent from donors and donor organizations from around the world. LWF-Jerusalem works with other like-minded organizations in the area to provide emergency aid through relief convoys and shipments. If you, your organization, or church wishes to contribute relief goods, hospital supplies, school supplies, etc., please contact us beforehand so that we may ensure that your donation can make the biggest impact possible. Please do not send goods without contacting us first.
It is important for potential donors to keep in mind that shipping costs, taxes, and purchase prices make it more effective for groups to donate money which can be used to purchase goods locally. Locally-purchased goods have the dual benefit of providing aid to the local community and adding to the economy of the local community. LWF-Jerusalem prefers to purchase its goods locally, so as to encourage employment in the flagging Palestinian job market. There is a possibility that groups interested in donating specific material goods could contact us to arrange the local purchase of these goods with donated funds.
